I am a born again Christian but why don't I have the peace, joy and hope of God in me? Why can't I live a victorious life? These were the questions I used to ask but not anymore ..
The Battlefield of the Mind has taught me to initiate an habitual process to think about what i am thinking about and then, to make the necessary efforts to meditate, contemplate and ponder on God's Word day and night. As I started to think and be mindful of what i was thinking, and worked at filling my thought process with God's Word, I received a wonderful revelation and it gave me a new perspective for my life.
Although Romans 12 : 2 teaches us to be transformed by the renewal of our mind so that we may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, but many of us have not gotten our mind renewed because we spend very very little time pondering, meditating and contemplating on God's Word.
Instead our mind keep thinking of the wrong thoughts: such as why my boss never appreciate what i have done for him? There is no point in doing so much for him; Why can't my children work as hard as my neighbour's children? This type of negative thoughts only tear us down. They also change our attitude and affect our emotions for the day. We become a person with a lot of unhappiness, hatred, anger and jealousy.
When I start to think about what I am thinking about, I became aware of this strong current of negativity coming over me that threatens to pull me down. Once I realised what was happening inside me. I resolved to change my thinking so that i will no longer be held captive by these negative thoughts and emotions. Following the teaching of the Battlefield of the Mind, I started my quiet time with God on a more serious note. I would practice putting God's Word into my thinking. Overtime my effort bore fruit. For example, one time when i was wondering why such a sad incident had occured. God's Word came to mind to reveal His reason for allowing it to occur and that His wisdom transcend all understanding. We may not know why such an incident happened but God tell us to trust Him, that He will work out for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. The way God spoke to me reveal the truth that the measure of thought and study we give to the truth we hear will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to us.
From the above experience Ii realise how important it is to be aware of what goes into our mind and that we need to replace and fill our thoughts with God's Word. To line up our thinking with God and His Word. Through this process of thinking, we will be changed or transformed into what God intends for us to be and will be able to live a victorious life and be good witness for Christ to the world.

On Sunday morning at 7.30am the 12 of us gathered at the entrance of Bukit Gasing. The men were gathering for the first time to prepare themselves for Mount KK Quest. I was not sure if I could last the pace (it's been ages since I last exercise lest alone climb any hill..)Glad to say all the women manage to complete our climb. The ropes along the side of trek were a great help as some part of the trails were quite challenging. What kept me going was knowing that there was no orang asli to pay to get me down safely should my legs failed to cooperate..
Apparently there are many trails to take but we took the one that lead us to the suspension bridge which overlook a small stream below.
After having climbed like what seemed to be ages, we finally reached the half-way mark and took a short-break. Whilst we rested, Alvin and Siew Hong were alredy into their 2nd and 3rd rounds.
From the half way mark we continue our journey and reached the Watch Tower. Being "kaisu" I did not want to miss out and climbed those stairway despite my aching muscles. And I was rewarded with the sight of beautiful lush greenery that surrounds Bukit Gasing. Wish I had my SLR camera with me. From here on the rest of the trek was easy..
Just before reaching the entrance, we had the opportunity to spot a large spider with teeny baby on its back. It was amazing! Although I know Eddie would not agree with me..
The trek was definitely an fun-filled and interesting experience. We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously. For those who missed out don't despair. The good news is that we are going to hike Bukit Gasing once again this Sunday before moving on to "conquer" the next hill. So for those who wish to join us please meet at the entrance of Bukit Gasing at 7.30am or contact me, Wini at 012-2681197 or anyone of us if you are not too sure about the place..

"We need to yearn for God and to know Him. We know Him through His Word. John 17:3 says, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."Joyce preaches about the need to check your beliefs, attitudes and motives. The importance of thinking and speaking positively - how words can greatly influence every aspect of your life.

The New Eve Malaysia, which conducts the Battlefield of the Mind and The New Eve curriculum is wonderful. The benefits i have received from the study on Battlefield of the Mind have been enormous. Indeed the study has been a life-changing experience for me and benefitted me tremendously.
The impacts are as follow:
The very first chapter struck me deeply as i learn of the role played by the devil and his demons in a carefully crafted plan to build strongholds in our mind that paralyse us and keep us away from enjoying God's goodness in our lives. The devil does this job by constantly bombarding our mind with with nagging and negative thoughts as well as filling us with fears, doubts, suspicions, wonderings, reasoning and theories. When our mind harbors all these harmful thoughts, we also become a very negative and depressed person.
How to be set free from these chains locked up by the devil? The study proceeds to teach us ways to demolish these strongholds. By asking God for help often; by having right thinking which is a vital necessity for believers just as the heart beat and blood pressure are for life; by diligently working on our spirituality so that we would not give up in rough times.
Through the study i learnt to lean on God's word, trusting in His promises, putting on the full armour of God and walking in faith with expectations. Little by little my mind began to experience a renewal process. I also noticed that my outlook on life, my behaviour, my thinking and hence my mind-set has started to change. In other words, i am gaining ground in the battlefield of my mind, bit by bit. I become more aware of what i am thinking. I have stop uttering negative words and not to harbor any negative thoughts. Instead, i proclaim I am a confident person and declare hopes for the present as well as the future. I am enjoying a tremendous sense of joy and peace within myself. In short, i am a new person altogether as my mind is being renewed to God's way of thinking. With the renewed mind, I believe i will be transformed into what God intends for me to be.
The study has succeeded in encouraging the participants to attend to God's word by meditating on it, by pondering on it, by contemplating on it, by rehearsing or practising it in our thinking. What a wonderful and fruitful teaching we receive for studying God's word! As the measure of thoughts and study given to God's word will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to us, God's word will become the centre of our lives. We will be able to line up our thinking with God's thinking and His word and hence, we will become a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

7th January 2010, saw the launch of Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind curriculum in Kuantan.
2010 is indeed going to be an exciting year. It is a Year of Completion.
Thanks for Ps Eng Cheng we were able to get this curriculum going. At 9.30am, we had a total registration of 18 women coming for the induction from different churches.
Ps Eng Cheng will be conducting the follow-up classes whilst her two capable assistants, Choi Lin will act as the Host for the Kuantan chapter with the aid of Yvonne.
Despite the "technical battling" that was going on with the computers and projector, which was working fine the night before, Ps Richard was able to get the session going.
But nevertheless, with the advancement of technology, nothing is missed or lost.
